Car remapping involves modifying the data and parameters stored in your vehicle’s Engine Control Unit (ECU) using specialised software. This process tunes your car to deliver increased power (BHP) and torque (Nm), improving overall performance and responsiveness.
Most cars leave the factory deliberately de-tuned by manufacturers for emissions, fuel economy, or reliability reasons. If your car feels sluggish or lacks the power it once had, a remap can unlock its full potential, giving you better acceleration, more torque, and a more enjoyable driving experience.
At Vmaps, we always back up your original ECU data before tuning. If you decide to revert to the factory settings, we can restore your car’s original ECU file for a small additional fee of £50.
Yes, we provide a lifetime warranty on all remaps performed by Vmaps. Please note, if your vehicle has pre-existing mechanical issues, we cannot be held responsible for any resulting damage after the remap.
We do not have a rolling road at Vmaps. However, a rolling road is not required for remapping your car. Rolling roads mainly measure power and torque before and after tuning and can be expensive, often costing upwards of £400.
Yes, we offer mobile remapping services within the Cheshire area for an additional charge. If you’re outside Cheshire, please contact us — we may still be able to accommodate your location.
